Concept: Eugenio Ampudia

Description: From the 70s to 2009 the access to Manzanares river was blocked for citizens by a highway, the city was cut off in two and the citizens of one side were unconnected with those of the other side. In 2003 the city council decided to create a green corridor and to bury underground the driving circulation underneath a longitudinal park. The buried beltway civil engineering works were finished on 2007. On 2008 Eugenio Ampudia proposed to the city council a double arc fountain that connects the two sides with water. The material that separates people it will be the same that connect them after this project, as a metaphor. This project has never been done because of budget restrictions.
